After the usual experience reading web & YouTube reviews (some reviewers demonstrating 5+ star love, other reviewers mostly just trash talking), I decided to take a chance and buy Grasshopper Limited ST1300 driver backrest. The price was a motivator - even if it didn't work out, at least I wouldn't have cut holes in my seat cover or thrown hundreds of dollars down the drain. Turns out, I needn't have worried - I love this backrest! It was easy to install and I was even able to make a minor adjustment since the metal shaft is pliable enough to bend a little. For the details that follow, it may help to know that I'm 5' 8" and weigh 155 pounds. I've read reviews that complain about being "pushed" too close to the tank by the backrest - this isn't a problem for me, in fact I adjusted the backrest to allow support for sitting _closer_ to the tank than the out-of-the-box configuration. I've read reviews that complain that the metal brace is too flexible and doesn't provide enough support - again, this isn't a problem for me. In fact, I'm finding that I love the feel of the backrest pressing against my lower back when accelerate aggressively. This backrest has extended the comfort of my riding day by hours. I went on a 6 hour ride two days ago and never experienced tired/sore back muscles as I usually do on long rides. Highly recommended.
