The product is very well made and very appealing to the eye. It will enhance the look of your bike plus make those long over due day long trips easy since you'll have lower back support to keep you in the seat for longer periods of time. The installation took all of 15 minutes to put on my 2008 Yamaha V Star 650 Silverado, with the included instructions. If your looking for a comfortable driver's backrest and don't want to pay higher prices pick up the Grasshopper drivers backrest for your V Star motorcycle, you won't regret it.
I purchased a backrest for my Yamaha VStar 650. Fit perfectly! Can't wait to try it out this next weekend! Was very comfortable just sitting still after I installed it. It was a fluke that I came upon the Grasshopper Website as I had been trying desperately to find a drivers backrest. I am grateful to have located you! Have been letting others know.
This is the second Grass Hopper backrest I've purchased, the first was for a HD Heritage. The unit is well put together. It arrived one day ahead of when it was originally scheduled to. I've removed the rear seat and the bracket mounts to the forward rear seat bracket location. Installation was quick and easy; remove then reinstall two screws. The backrest then just slides into the mount. Its taken more time to write this review than it took to install the backrest. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5; I let my 6'3" 300 lbs friend try it out. His weight caused the mounting bracket to bend backwards. I've had to bend the piece back forward. Obviously, my friend won't be riding the bike again, with the backrest installed.
