07-UP Harley Davidson Heritage Softail or Fatboy Installation Instructions
1. Remove passenger seat exposing two knurled nuts
2. Remove nuts and place supplied bracket over existing studs
3. Reinstall nuts (you may have to pull up on studs if they slip down)
4. Put passenger seat back on.
5. Install new backrest in the bracket and ride safe!
(if upright is loose put one piece of electrical tape around tongue and reinstall)

Back & shoulders saver
After fitting I found the backrest pushed me a little too far forward. I removed it and made some modifications to allow me to sit back a little further. It's quite comfortable and the support it gives me in the middle of my back is great, and I love using it. I also drilled and tapped a couple of holes and bolted it together in the lower area to prevent it from being lifted off, (stolen), when parked. Perhaps this option could be incorporated in the design to allow better security of the backrest.

Does exactly what I needed it to do
The construction is solid, padding is softer than seating, which is good. Right height. Installs easy. There is room for improvement. The screw slots in the mounting bracket are so big, the mount slides side-to-side. It must be made for many different bikes, not just 07 and up Softails. I installed SS flat and lock washers to keep it in place.
