Yamaha 1300 V-STAR Backrest Installation Instructions
1. Remove driver and passenger seat
2. Remove passenger hold down strap nuts and
washers from bottom of passenger seat. (Bracket mounts to the bottom of the passenger seat not the fender or the bracket!!!)
3. Place supplied bracket over existing studs and reinstall
nuts and washers.
4. Reinstall seats
5. Slide backrest into the installed bracket
(if upright is loose put one piece of electrical tape around tongue and reinstall)

Very nice backrest; VERY easy to install and use
This came recommended from my dealership. I purchased the backrest and received it within a few days. It took every bit of 10 minutes to install, and that was taking my time and going slowly. When they say "quick release", they mean it! This thing just slides in and slides out. VERY easy. I really like it.
